Who or What are The bAIngers?
The bAIngers are not a band, but my human/AI collaboration concept. The lyrics are 100% my own except where noted. Lyrics are fed into Suno, an AI song generator, along with prompting to guide the musical output. In go lyrics, out come bAIngers! Music videos are created by prompting AI video generators, currently Luma Dream Machine, and creating a series of short video clips that are then stitched and edited.
About the Human
I am Casey Ryan Tibbs. I began writing poetry with purpose in 1997 after a schoolmate passed away in a tragic traffic accident. As the years went on, having grown up with a love for music, I focused more on writing what I felt were songs. Eventually, I began learning guitar and later still, singing.
By the time things really began to click and my songs really became SONGS with something to offer, my physical and mental health had become problematic, interfering more and more with work, relationships, and creative pursuits. I have since been diagnosed with bipolar depression, PTSD, and degenerative disc disease.
AI Fluid Art
My music is informed by this struggle, and The bAIngers are both a product of and a way around the struggle.
I'm able to publish and share songs that I believe are or could be bangers, having some fun with the AI element, and you're able to consider my art, how it stacks up against fully human art, and what it might sound like if performed by a real band/artist.
bAInger Charm
I think it's a really fun and exciting new way to spread and develop music. When I produce the songs, I don't hide or fix the occasional "hallucinations" or simple giveaways that you're listening to a machine. For me, it's part of the charm. And when I'm listening, I catch parts where I'm saying "a real singer would do this so much better!" and that's OK - how beautiful is that, really?!
